Step 2: PERSONALIZATION OF THE CHARACTER

PERSONALIZATION OF THE CHARACTER

For those who are in charge of the creation of a character, this part is for you. We will approach this task in different ways depending on your character:

  • An adult can be identified by its clothes, its hairstyle and accessories surrounding the scene as we saw before.

  • Teenagers can show their identity by their clothes too but in our case we can’t change the clothes because of the school rules. But that is not a problem. There are still aspects of the uniform that can be changed and exaggerated a little bit. Like these samples. ( by the end of the week will be on this blog)

Also the shape of the face. Teenagers' faces can be represented like an oval whereas children's faces can be illustrated by a circle.

  • Children can show their identity by its size, their desk ( is it tidy? Or messy? Is it plenty of little notes from friends?) their hair accessories ( ponytails, braids, buns, boys haircut)

Think about the personality and the identity of your character. Write it down and then try to express it in the illustration. Draw like if every detail of your character was a clue for the things you wrote. Remember you can add as much as you need: a desk, a folder, brands, schoolbag, cool trainers, messy trainers.
